A Bay Farm tradition, Celebrate the Differences is an exciting event that Bay Farm students prepare for each year. It is a time for students to learn about the differences of people, cultures, countries, languages, and many aspects that make our world so diverse. The elementary and middle school students are assigned a continent to study, which they research, learn about, and present to fellow classmates and parents. This year, Celebrate the Differences took place last Sunday, June 4th. The students showcased their projects and then performed songs and dances from the continents of Europe and South America under the tent.
Tomorrow, June 9th, is the last day of the school year and will bring much excitement to campus. It is Field Day, a day to which our kids look forward all year. Hosted by the MPA, this day will be filled with an array of indoor and outdoor activities for children at every level. While not required, most kids wear the tie-dye shirts that they made in Art Land.
After the all-school dismissal at 12:00, noon, the end-of-year kindergarten play will take place at 1:00. The kindergarten play will be followed by the kindergarten medallion and butterfly release ceremony. These are wonderful traditions to which families and friends of kindergarteners are invited.
Tomorrow evening, we will have our graduation and medallion ceremony. All children in our Elementary I, Elementary II, and Middle School programs receive a medallion to commemorate their year. Bay Farm is proud to celebrate the seventh class of eighth graders to graduate from our school. While the focus of this ceremony is our elementary and middle school children, all Bay Farm families and friends are invited to the ceremony. Featuring speeches by the eighth graders as well as other commentary and music, this uniquely Bay Farm ceremony will be followed by our traditional butterfly release and cupcakes. Thank you for a wonderful year!
We congratulate all Bay Farm alumni who graduate this spring from middle schools, high schools, and colleges. In particular, we want to recognize our eight eighth-graders who are graduating from our middle school tomorrow.
