Today, the Mattakeesett Room students “went to the polls” and voted for the next President of the United States.  Their ballot was made up  of the two candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.  After tallying all votes, Clinton won with 55% of the vote.  After voting, the students received an “I voted” sticker.  The students in the Patuxet Room voted last week and also chose Clinton.

Bay Farm's FIRST® LEGO® League teams are busy using their creative imaginations to create working robots and motorized models that solve a problem to a real-life situation.  Thanks to the guidance of some of our parents, the younger LEGO® team is working on a Creature Craze project, and the older students are designing and programming an Animal Allies robot.  The older group will be competing in an official LEGO® League event in Boston in December.

Lace up your shoes and costumes; Bay Farm's 12th Annual Royce Whitaker 5K Run by the Bay & Kids Fun Run is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016.  This is a USATF-sanctioned race which begins and ends on the Bay Farm campus and runs along beautiful Bay Road in Duxbury.  Held in memory of beloved student, Royce Whitaker, this high-spirited road race celebrates the joy, compassion, and unquenchable curiosity of Royce and all of the students at Bay Farm... The November MPA meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 1st at 6:30pm in The Great Room.  There will be no morning meeting on that day.  This meeting will feature a parent education presentation by Liz Titus on “homework and the work of the home”. Childcare will be provided by the MPA for children ages 2.9 years and older. Younger children are always welcome to join us for the meeting.  You must reserve a spot for childcare.  Please email to reserve your child’s spot.

Today, the students and staff at Bay Farm Montessori Academy observed the International Day of Peace with a brief ceremony held around the Peace Pole on the Bay Farm campus.  Students in grades 4-8 recited quotes and famous sayings about peace from well-known people.  In addition, all students from pre-school through grade 8 sang Light the Candles All Around the World.
