Chrissy Brodeur and Susan Moran will give an introduction to the Positive Discipline model. Positive Discipline, created by Jane Nelsen, Ed.D., is designed to teach children to become responsible, respectful, and resourceful. Positive Discipline teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults. Positive Discipline includes a number of techniques that can lead to a more effective way for parents to manage their child’s behavior.

Students and Parents Made 18 Fleece Blankets for the Plymouth Taskforce to End Homelessness
Our Elementary II students, with help from their parents during Special Persons’ Day, made 18 fleece blankets by hand and delivered them on Sunday to the Plymouth Taskforce to End Homelessness in Plymouth. This hospitality program provides overnight accommodates and feeds ups 20 homeless men per night, seven days per week during the winter months from November to April. This is the first community service project of the year for Bay Farm’s elementary students. With help from parents and teachers, the students cut and tied almost 80 yards of fleece to make 18 blankets for the men staying at the homeless shelter. The Taskforce workers were extremely appreciative and overwhelmed by the generosity of the students. This project provided a wonderful way to teach students that giving back to the community can make a difference.
