The Elementary II students are performing, Theseus and the Minotaur, this week. This musical play is a great complement to their studies of Greek mythology and Ancient Greece.
Scantron Performance Series Assessment will be given to students in 1st to 8th grades next week. Performance Series is a web-based computer adaptive standardized assessment that can be used for parent communication, identifying a child’s ability levels, demonstrating growth over time, informing instructional practice, and aiding in program evaluation. Unlike other forms of assessment, Performance Series tests are completely computer-based and adjust to each child’s ability level. As your child answers each question, the test adapts according to his or her response. Questions get easier when your child answers incorrectly and get more challenging when he or she answers correctly. This individualizes every testing experience and more accurately reflects your child’s ability.
For more information on the dates of your child’s test and how you can help prepare your child, please click here.
Bay Farm is pleased to announce the parent portal on the school’s website can now be accessed. Earlier this week, you received an email inviting you to set up a password to your account. Once you do this, you will have access to your child’s classroom pages, the school directory, parent education information, and other secure forms and policies relevant to you and your child’s relationship with Bay Farm. If you have any questions about setting up your account, please contact Lexa Kandola at IT@bfarm.org.

The next session of pizza lunch does not begin until March. If you signed up for pizza in the fall, then your child will continue to enjoy pizza lunch until March. We will send out a new sign-up form at the end of January for the spring session of pizza, which will begin the first week of March.
Bay Farm is offering February Vacation Camp during February break (Feb. 21-24) from 8:30am - 12:00pm or 8:30am - 3:00pm. The camp is open for children from 3 to 14. Karen Howland will be running the camp and is planning a week of fun games, cooking projects, arts and crafts, and outdoor fun as long as the weather cooperates. Click here to download the sign-up form. The deadline to sign up for camp is Wednesday, February 15th.
In the event of an emergency or severe weather preventing Bay Farm from opening or requiring an early dismissal, you will receive an email notifying you. The school has registered all parent email addresses with an outside service called "Remind." As a result, you will receive an email in the event of an emergency or school closing.
You can also receive a text message if you opt to do so. If you would like to receive text messages when Bay Farm is closed, please do the following:
Text "@bayfarmall" to 81010.
You will receive a text back confirming you have joined the school broadcast.
Additionally, Bay Farm will continue to also communicate school closing news via the following methods:
1. An email blast will go out to all family email addresses.
2. A text message will be sent to all mobile phone numbers. (If you opted in through the directions above.)
3. A voicemail message will be sent to all phone numbers.
4. We will post the closure on Facebook and on Bay Farm’s website.
5. We will contact the local news affiliates, including NBC (WHDH, CH 7), ABC (WCVB, CH 5) , CBS (WBZ-TV, CH 4), and FOX (CH 25), who will post the closings on their website and/or list on their TV news stations.
6. We will post this with WPLM (1390AM) Radio in Plymouth.
When power lines are down, it can be difficult for the school to get the word out and for families to access the information; therefore we provide many ways to communicate.
If the weather is bad and the School is open, families are encouraged to use their own best judgment and to travel only at their own discretion.
