Bay Farm Performing Arts Presents Lilly & the Magic Stones

by | Jan 31, 2024

In the vibrant realm of Bay Farm Performing Arts, the Great Room stage came alive on January 19 and January 20 with enchanting performances of “Lilly and the Magic Stones.” This captivating showcase illuminated our young performers’ talents and underscored the profound significance of performing arts enrichment at Bay Farm. The dynamic synergy of creativity, self-expression, and collaborative learning unfolded seamlessly on the stage.

A note from Director Rachel Beauregard: I read nearly a dozen plays to find this fall’s enrichment piece, and when I came upon Lily and the Magic Stones, I knew it was exactly what we needed.  The story follows Lily, an eccentric young girl with good intentions, who becomes caught between the life she’s always known and the wrath of the greedy Baron. With the help of friends she has made by helping those in need, she finds the strength to stand up for what she knows is right, even when it isn’t the easiest choice.

Every day, whether we’re adults or children, we are faced with choices that require us to look inward and consider the person we want to be and the world we’d like to live in. Just like Lily, sometimes the right choice is a challenge, or the outlooks all seem grim. However, with the help of friends who see the best in us and advice from those who love us the most, following our hearts cannot lead us astray.

Though I didn’t know, at the time I chose this play, that it would be my last with Bay Farm, I couldn’t have picked a better message to conclude my time here: The kindness you show to the world will be reflected back to you and together, we can do hard things.

Thank you for joining us on Lily’s adventure, and good luck on all of yours!

With Love and Gratitude,
Rachel Beauregard
